A great debut record for sure!
The production is raw and gritty, it has similar hypnotic elements that remind of me Carved Cross with long droning passages mixed with raw, angry, disembodied vocals that are reminiscent of Black Cilice. While there's some similarities that can be made to other projects, Upir definitely has a sound that's their own! I know I'll certainly be nabbing any physical release they put out! Not many bands can keep my attention pretty much solely using synths, but this entity that is Lamp of Murmuur can do anything and evoke a wonderful atmosphere and showcase their ability to blend melody with a wall of static noise Xra Diabolist
